About the JPG to PNG converter
This online JPG to PNG converter helps you change image format directly in your browser. It is useful when a website, app, CMS, email platform, or design workflow only accepts a specific file type. You can upload a {from} image, convert it to {to}, and download the result without installing desktop software.
JPG to PNG converts a compressed photo into a lossless image. The PNG file will typically be 3–5× larger than the source JPG — converting a 500 KB JPG often produces a 2 MB PNG. Importantly, converting JPG to PNG does NOT restore the quality JPG threw away: compression artifacts already baked into the JPG remain visible after conversion. So this is rarely done to "improve quality". The genuinely useful reasons are: (1) you need transparency support added on top of the photo (e.g., to mask edges in a design tool), (2) you are sending the file to a workflow that strictly requires PNG (some print drivers, badge generators, or icon pipelines), or (3) you need a copy that won't be re-encoded with further loss on every edit. If none of those apply, keep the original JPG — PNG will make the file larger without making it look better.
PNG is best for graphics that need transparency, sharp edges, screenshots, logos, UI images, and artwork with text. It keeps image detail well, but files can become large when the image contains many colors.

Practical tips
Check the final image before publishing it. For website use, aim for the smallest file that still looks clear on the screen size where it will be displayed. For logos, screenshots, and UI graphics, use a format that preserves sharp edges. For photographs, use a format that provides good compression and broad compatibility.
