What this editor is for

Use this page when you need a blank page immediately: a shopping list, meeting notes, a draft message, or a few paragraphs you do not want to create as a desktop file. The editor loads with the page. There is no account and no cloud folder.

Text is stored in this browser with localStorage. If you return to the same browser on this computer, the last draft is still here. If you clear site data, switch devices, or use a private window that later closes, the draft is gone. Download a file when the note matters.

This is not a replacement for Google Docs or Word. It does not sync across phones, does not create share links, and does not keep version history. That is intentional. PCToolsOnline.com tools run locally so drafts never leave the device.

How to use

1. Click the writing area and type. Formatting buttons apply to the selected text.
2. The editor saves automatically after you pause typing. The green status line confirms the last save.
3. Use Download .txt for a plain file, or Download .html if you want headings and lists to keep their formatting.
4. Choose New note only when you are ready to replace the current draft. You will be asked to confirm.

What stays private

Keystrokes never go to our servers. Autosave uses storage inside your browser profile. We cannot recover a deleted note. Treat this like a sticky note on the computer you are using, not like email.

If you paste sensitive information, download the file and then use New note so the copy is not left in localStorage.

Keyboard shortcuts from the browser still work: Ctrl or Cmd plus B, I, and U for bold, italic, and underline. Undo uses the normal browser undo stack. There is no built-in spellcheck language picker; the browser supplies that.

Writers often keep this tab next to Word Counter. Draft here, then paste into the counter if you need a hard word limit. Case Converter is useful after you export a plain .txt file and want title case for a headline.
