Image to Scan

Shoot the page as flat as you can. This tool cleans tone. It does not straighten a crooked page.
Turn a phone photo of a page into something closer to a flatbed scan: gray paper, a black-and-white copy, or a lighter photo treatment. Download a JPG or a one-page PDF.
How to use
- Use a photo where the page fills the frame and the camera is square to the paper. Shadows in the corners will still be shadows.
- Gray document is the default. It drops color, lifts contrast, and adds a little sharpening so body text is easier to read.
- Black and white compares each pixel with the paper around it, so a page with uneven light does not turn into one giant black block the way a single cutoff would.
- Soft photo is the same grayscale path with less sharpening, for pictures you do not want to look like a copier.
- Download JPG for a normal image, or PDF if you need to attach a one-page file. The PDF is the picture on a page, not selectable text. For text, use Image to Word.
Limits
This does not detect the paper edges or fix perspective. A photo taken at an angle stays at an angle. It also does not certify a copy for a bank, a court, or a school. It only changes tone so the page is easier to read and smaller to send.
Very large photos are scaled so the long side is at most 2,000 pixels before processing, which is enough for a readable page and keeps the browser responsive.
Questions
Will handwriting survive black and white?
Dark ink usually does. Pencil and light-blue pen often drop out, the same way they do on a copier.
Can I scan several pages into one PDF?
This page makes one PDF page. Run each photo, then combine the PDFs with Merge PDF.
