Passport Photo Maker

Drop a portrait here or click to choose

Drag the portrait inside the frame. The frame color only shows if you pull the photo away from an edge.

Frame a portrait at the pixel size used for common passport and visa prints at 300 dpi. You drag and zoom. The tool does not guess where your head is, and it does not replace the background inside the photo.

How to use

  1. Start from a front-facing photo with even light. The tool will not fix a profile shot.
  2. Pick the size. Drag the photo so the head sits where that country's guide says it should. Use zoom if you need to come closer.
  3. The frame color is the area behind the photo. It shows only when the picture does not cover the frame. It does not erase the room behind you.
  4. Download the JPG at the exact pixel size of the preset.

Questions

Do you cut out the background?

No. Background replacement needs a segmentation model, and a bad cutout is worse than a plain crop. Use a photo that already has a plain wall, or shoot against one.

Why is the file only a few hundred pixels wide?

That is the 300 dpi print size for a small passport photo. Scaling it up will not add detail.
